As Rachel Mason, founder and CEO of Our Remedy who creates powerful wellness teas, said: “I’ve always struggled with sleep, fuelled by the anxiety of my ongoing female health issues.

“Our teas are the ultimate pick-me-up to elevate your wellness routine packed with powerful adaptogenic herbs and botanicals to support your hormonal health, boost energy and soothe mood swings. One of the stars of the show is the schisandra berry, an adaptogen used by Chinese medicine practitioners for centuries to stimulate the adrenal gland and the production of hormones like epinephrine, increasing feelings of well-being, boosting alertness and decreasing stress.”

For me I love coffee and whilst caffeine is the number one supplement for fat loss, I drink way too much which triggers my anxiety. So I have started to swap some cups of coffee with tea to start with.

I also make sure I drink at least two litres of water a day as it is so important to keep hydrated. You can read more of my tips in my weekly newspaper column: https://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/sport/other-sport/the-sparkle-coach-how-to-keep-fit-from-head-to-toe-3158284

Moon Swings

RRP £26.99 10ml / 500mg
Our Remedy’s original hero elixir Moon Swings blends broad-spectrum CBD with peppermint and clary sage to help support you and promote a happier period. Reviewed by Doctor Ramlah Tariq, Moon Swings has over 70 positive testimonials from people with periods who attest that it has helped them with symptoms such as mood swings, bloating, menstrual cramping and hormone imbalance. Drop half a pipette per day under the tongue or into your hot drink/smoothie throughout the month. It can take 1-2 weeks for CBD to gradually build up in the body and take effect.
Doctor Ramlah Tariq said: “During our period, our hormones work in an intricate balance and are affected by small changes in our routine or diet. These hormones are responsible for all of our stressful symptoms during that time of the month. CBD can be a promising answer for period-related issues since its anti-inflammatory and stress-relieving effects may be helpful for hormonal imbalance. Every individual is different so use CBD only if it suits you and ensure you are using CBD from a trusted company.”

Founder profile:
Rachel Mason is the founder & CEO of Our Remedy: “I’ve always struggled with sleep, fuelled by the anxiety of my ongoing female health issues. From finding out I’d never conceive naturally, to cancer cells being discovered on my ovaries (and a subsequent hysterectomy aged just 30) – I’ve had my fair share of worries. Thankfully, I found relief and balance by introducing CBD into my wellness routine. But I couldn’t find one I liked the taste of nor one that resonated with my passion for the environment, so I decided to create my own. Several years on, my natural remedy is your remedy too. It’s Our Remedy. We want to reframe self-care to ensure it’s not selfish-care. Our philosophy to give back underpins everything we do, from the packaging we use, the inks we print with and the fact we donate to Bloody Good Period. We’re proud to be the first and only CBD company to prioritise sustainability in this way.”
